Alex Serra & Totidub — In the Real World
Barcelona-born musician Alex Serra released his debut album In the Real World in 2019, a project born from a four-year journey of self-discovery across Latin America and South Africa. Along the way, he connected with musicians from diverse cultural and sonic backgrounds, blending Amazonian sounds, African tribal rhythms, and downtempo frequencies into a unique and transformative musical experience.
In 2017, Alex met Toti Arimany (Totidub), a master of Dub and electronic production. Their connection was instant, and together they spent a year experimenting in a farmhouse turned creative laboratory. Combining Alex’s field recordings from his travels with Afro-Latin beats, African guitars, soulful melodies, and delicate Dub textures, they crafted an immersive soundscape that feels both organic and otherworldly.
Released under the independent label Mundo Zurdo on June 21, 2019, In the Real World quickly gained attention for its freshness and depth, offering listeners a gateway into a sonic journey of introspection and trance.
The Live Show by Alex Serra & Totidub is more than a concert — it’s a ritual. This nomadic and ever-evolving project brings together artists from different disciplines to explore how art can elevate the human spirit and create harmonious realities. The performance blends NA LUA’s (Aina Oset) cosmic visuals with hypnotic light and sound, the expressive choreography of KAMPAI Dance Co, and the dynamic energy of Didak Fernandez (drums) and Adri González (keys).
